Rajya Sabha is also known as the upper house of the parliament of India. 19 seats elected by Maharashtra, they are indirectly elected by state legislators of Maharashtra. Before the (seventh amendment) constitution act of 1956, Bombay state elects 17 seats, Hyderabad state elects 11 seats, MP state elects 12 seats and Mysore state elects 6 seats. Now Maharashtra state elects 19 seats and Gujarat state elects 11 seats this was done after Bombay Reorganisation Act of 1960, the total seats were 27 and 3 seats added later after 1960 act.
